Systems Engineer

About the Role

IBEX Staffing Solutions is seeking a  to support one of our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners. This is a long-term remote opportunity for a systems engineer who enjoys working across diverse client environments and leading infrastructure projects from design through implementation and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate has a strong MSP background with expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Lead infrastructure assessments, cloud migrations, and modernization projects.
• Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Teams Phone, Intune, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VMware, and Hyper-V environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking technologies including VPNs, SD-WAN, VLANs, Azure networking, and Fortinet firewalls.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam and Azure Backup.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, or similar tools.
• Create technical documentation, project plans, and implementation documentation.
• Act as the highest-level technical escalation point and collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver successful projects.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of ing experience in an MSP or enterprise IT environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VMware, and/or Hyper-V.
• Experience with networking, firewalls, VPNs, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced MSP environment.
